Meet Rothea.
Rothea is entirely self-taught her love of sewing started young, and it was her mother, Joan Sebastian, who bought her her first sewing machine. That gift changed everything.
She founded Rothea's Sewing Studio in Cape Town's Northern Suburbs in 2016. What began with a single school's tracksuit order has grown into a small atelier serving 10+ schools, churches, businesses and clubs across the Cape one family, one bench and where sub-contracting is needed, she works exclusively with trusted local businesses in the area.
Today Rothea works alongside a team of four ladies, each one trained in the studio. She still cuts every first sample. She still meets every new client. And she still answers the phone.
